A joint campaign by the National Labor Committee, the Bangladesh Center for Workers Solidarity and the National Garment Workers Federation of Bangladesh May 2004 Mother's Day---"It's all about mom!" the ads proclaim, as some of the best known U.S labels spend $42,800 a page in the New York Times to get us to buy their clothing. But what about the 1.5 million women Garment workers in Bangladesh--some the poorest women in the world---who are at this moment being cheated of their legals maternity leave and benefits by very same multinational corporations?
